Manage A Rental? Get Help With Plumbing To Improve The Kitchen For Tenants

Blog

If you own a property that you rent out full-time, you will need to invest in maintenance and repairs to keep it functional for your tenants. Some property owners will do the least amount of work to provide a working property that they can get a monthly rent check from. But, you may like the idea of meeting or exceeding your tenants' expectations with home maintenance.

If you want to make sure that your tenants have a great time using the kitchen, you should consider hiring a plumbing services company during the next vacancy to work on several projects.

Install a Garbage Disposal

A useful feature to have in the kitchen is a garbage disposal. Without one, your tenants would have to catch all the food pieces before they go down the drain and put them in the trash. This is a messy and time-consuming process that some renters may want to avoid at all costs.

Installing a garbage disposal is not an enormous project because you can replace the sink with one that fits this feature and then reserve a bit of space for the components below. Your tenants may not have as much storage space in the cabinets under the sink, but they will gain a valuable feature that allows them to break down food by letting all the pieces go down the drain.

Add Water Filtration

Some cities have great-tasting tap water, but you may not live in an area where the tap water is known for being delicious. If you live in the same city, you may use a water filter attachment or even a water filtration system in your own home to get the water that you drink every day.

Although your tenants can invest in water filter attachments or even buy filtered water at the store, you can make it easy for them to get at home by adding water filtration. You can get a water filtration system under the sink that does not take up any space near the faucet area.

Clean the Drains

Over time, the drains in your kitchen will clog, which leads to slower drainage. Although the water may drain at a reasonable rate while running the water at the highest pressure, you may want to minimize the chance of any problems happening while you have a tenant living inside. Drain cleaning service is a service that you can get alongside the features that you add to the kitchen.

Hiring a plumber and working on these projects will make your kitchen more enticing to renters. To learn more, visit http://www.rkknightplumbing.com

A New Kind of Piping Makes DIY Plumbing Easier

My homes have always had either copper or PVC plumbing pipes. But when my plumbing system needed an overhaul last spring, I wanted a piping system for my home that I could work on myself when needed. There were a lot of good reasons to choose PEX piping, but my favorite thing about the PEX piping is that it's easy to work with, even if you're a beginner like me. Now I can make small repairs myself instead of calling the plumber every time I have a minor leak or other small problem. I still call the plumber for the big stuff, but it's more affordable now that I can take care of small issues myself. I started this blog to help others learn how they, too, can do DIY plumbing repairs at home.
